The Tour Experience

Each tour is about 2.5 hours and includes 1.5 - 2 miles of walking.
We'll visit 6-7 viral food stops, split between savory bites, sweet treats, and occasionally a beverage.

Enough to call it a large meal, so arrive hungry! We've run the tour for people of all ages and sizes, and can guarantee you will be walking away full and satisfied!

We typically do not include drinks on the tour, although 1-2 stops will have water stations you may use. We encourage you to bring a refillable water bottle, and you are welcome to bring coffee or other drinks with you.

No! The beauty of Viral Food Tours is that we avoid the lines for you and get the best food in the city, as fresh as possible.

Occasionally, our partner restaurants are closed for the day. While this rarely happens, we have over a dozen amazing "viral food" partners in the West Village and will replace any restaurants that are closed with another amazing stop to ensure you get the best experience possible!

Your exact meeting point is in your confirmation email, located near Union Square and accessible via subway, bus, and taxi. We'll end the tour in the West Village. We will be walking in between all stops on the tour (1.5 - 2 miles in total).

Most importantly, wear comfortable walking shoes, as we'll walk 1.5 - 2 miles per tour! Aside from that, just check the forecast and make sure you'll be comfortable.

We take dietary restrictions seriously, and we value being transparent first and foremost. If you're vegetarian, vegan, or dairy-free, this tour can comfortably accommodate your restrictions! If you are gluten-free or have a severe nut allergy, this tour will be trickier for you, and we don't recommend it. We've had many guests with milder nut allergies join the tour, and are able to accommodate them as long as they are okay consuming food processed in the same facility as other dishes that include nuts.
If you have any other restrictions, we can likely make it work for you! Just send us a message ahead of time to check, or include a message about your allergy/restrictions when you purchase your ticket.

Each ticket includes all food tastings, our "skip-the-line" access to save hours of waiting, and a fun and knowledgeable local tour guide to tell you all about the food and neighborhood!
Gratuities are not included in the price of a ticket. While you're not required to leave a tip, we do encourage you to leave one for your guide if you had a great experience!

If the forecast is looking quite scary, we'd rather be safe - we can refund or reschedule you, and may occasionally pre-emptively cancel the tour ourselves. If it's just a little wet outside, we have a tour route that makes sure you don't get drenched. It's always good to bring the essentials - sunscreen for warm days, an umbrella for the wet ones.
